Winter art

Even though winter presents some challenges for photographers it also provides some great photo opportunites. After you get past the trouble with the cold the art in nature can come shinning through. Unless the snow has causes you personal hardship to you some how, no one can dismiss the art that only cold winter days can provide. For some it is what drives us to get out and be apart of it. For photographers just seeing it is not enough we feel the need to record it so we can enjoy more that once. Snow and ice with all their wonderful shapes can alter their appearence in just a few minutes or less. Some take perhaps days but it is a given that they will change their shape sooner or later. I am sure that some of the winter art I has wittnessed walking around the forest with my camera has only been eyed by me. Someone walking by after me would have viewed something different if they even noticed it at all.

  1. Brreautiful, especially the 6 icicles over the water – and the little bird – is it a dipper? Theresa

  3. Thank you for showing it to her David. Glad you liked it. Seems like a long winter still ahead of us so I’ll be looking for more ice shots this week. Thanks again.

  4. Your winter images are beautiful – the one with the drops coming off the icicles is breathtaking.

    • Thank you very much for your kind input. I have a large print of the melting ice photo hanging in my house and I love it too. Thanks again.

  5. Beautiful shots. Living in sunny San Diego makes these places seem really far away. Rory
